Easy Measure Guide – Universal Factory Direct
Measuring your kitchen accurately is an important first step in the cabinet ordering process. Our Easy Measure Guide provides simple, step-by-step instructions to help you measure your kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, or outdoor space before your design appointment.
How to Measure Your Kitchen
Follow these simple steps to get accurate measurements for your new cabinet design:
- Start by sketching a rough floor plan of your kitchen, including doors, windows, and appliances
- Measure the total length of each wall from corner to corner
- Note the location and size of windows, doors, and any openings
- Measure the distance from the floor to the bottom of each window
- Record the location of plumbing, electrical outlets, and light switches
- Measure the height from floor to ceiling
- Note the location of appliances including refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and sink
Tips for Accurate Measurements
- Use a metal tape measure for accuracy
- Measure in inches, not feet
- Measure twice to confirm accuracy
- Include all obstacles like pipes, vents, and soffits
- Take photos of your space for reference
